¿Qué hay en tu mesa de trabajo el miercoles? (suena mejor en inglés)

Well since I´ve been actually working and playing I have quite a lot of stuff, my Fiskars trimmer cause I love to use it, on top of that is The Book of Me by Autumn Leaves for inspiration, a basket full of ribbons, stamps, buttons, alphas etc. A Fiskars portable trimmer (just in case) recycled coke bottles that you can use to store buttons and in my case Primas, bling, etc. My notebook wrapped with Sassafras paper, Versamark in sepia, my handy bucket full of adhesives, inks, and the stuff I totally can´t live without. Also the remote control of the mp3 player on top of the sewing machine. You know whats super funny....is so weird the only thing I don´t have in the workspace is a cat.

Bueno ya que he estado trabajando y jugando tengo bastantes cosas, my guillotina Fiskars, por que me encanta usarla, encima tengo El libro de mi de Autumn Leaves para inspiración, una canasta llena de cintas, sellos, botones, alfabetos etc. Una guillotina portatil Fiskars (por cualquier cosa) botellas de coca recicladas para poner botones, y en mi caso tambien Primas, brillitos etc. My libreta cubierta de papel de Sassafrass. Versamark en sepia, my super comoda cubeta llena de adhesivos, tintas y las cosas con las que no puedo vivir sin ellas. Y el control de el mp3 que esta encima de la maquina de coser. ¿Saben que es lo gracioso? Lo unico que veo que no hay en la mesa es un gato.

A florecer en 2010.

So sorry for being gone so long, but I´ve been really uninspired, then busy, then sick, then all over again. But I decided that with choosing my word for 2010, I would get my inspiration up and start blogging again.

Mil disculpas por haberme ido tanto tiempo, pero realmente no he estado inspirada, luego me ocupe, luego me enfermé y de nuevo todo lo anterior. Pero decidí que al escoger mi palabra para el 2010, me iba a inspirar y escribir de nuevo en mi blog.

Since 2002 Ali Edwards has helped us get inspired by having a word that guides us trough the year, my word last year was Focus and I chose for 2010: Blossom

I want to Blossom in many ways, in my bussiness, as a person, in my craft and want see changes in my attitude, in some things that I really want to modify about my personality and then at the end Blossom into a healthier person with a total new attitude.

Desde el 2002 Ali Edwards nos ha ayudado a inspirarno invitandonos a escoger una palabra quenos guie durante todo un año, mi palabra del año pasado fue Focus (Enfocarse) y escogí para el 2010: Blossom (Florecer). Quiero Florecer de muchos modos, en mi negocio, como persona, en mis manualidades y me encantaría ver cambios en mi actitud en ciertas cosas que quiero modificar de mi personalidad y luego al final Florecer en una persona mas saludable con una actitud renovada.

2009 was a bitter sweet year, but I still made it work, I really hope 2010 is a much healthier, busier and filled with inspiration and crafting.


El 2009 fue un año agridulce, pero aún asi logre superarlo, espero en verdad que el 2010 estar mucho mas saludable y llena de inspiración y muchas manualidades.


If you are still reading me, thank you so much for your pacience and friendship, I plan to write a lot more on 2010 and have tons of things ready to post. Have an awesome 2010 and hope all your plans come true.

And October is OVER!

¡Y Octubre se ACABÓ!

And it was one of our best months ever, well forgetting the fact I got sick with Dengue fever and I felt horrible for almost a week, the rest was super awesome!

Y fué uno de los mejores meses del año, bueno sin tomar en cuenta el hecho que me dió Dengue y me sentí horrible for casi una semana. ¡El resto fue maravilloso!

Our dear friend Vanessa gave us a chance to be in a corner of her stand during the 13th Craft Fair here in Merida, this was to raise money for our cat shelter "The House of the Brat Cats" so we had to get really busy making stuff to offer.

Nuestra querida amiga Vanessa nos dió la oportunidad de tener un rinconcito en su stand en la 13 Edición de la Ferida de las Manualidades aquí en Mérida. Esto fué con el fin de reunir fondos para nuestro albergue de gatos "La Casa de los Gatos Malcriados" así que tuvimos que poner manos a la obra y apurarnos a hacer cositas para ofrecer.

This was our first time behind the scenes of an Expo show and let me tell you it is not an easy task, my hat goes off to all the ones that make it possible to have such a creative and fun time there.

Esta fué nuestra primera vez detras de bambalinas de una Expo y dejenme decirles que me quito el sombrero con todos los que hacen posible que podamos tener un momento tan creativo y divertido ahí.

One of the reasons we are so happy is because we got to meet a lot of facebook and internet friends, thanks for your support and specially for your visit, every time we saw someone familiar it brought a huge smile to our faces and made us feel super special.

Una de las razones por las que estamos tan contentas, es por que pudimos conocer a muchos amigos de facebook y del internet. Muchas gracias por su apoyo y en especial por su visita, cada vez que veiamos un rostro familiar nos salía una super sonrisa y nos hacía sentir muy especiales.

We had very good results and sold even more than we thought, and how could we not with such pretty models in our stand!

Tuvimos excelentes resultados y vendimos mas de lo que hubieramos pensado. ¡Y como no, con tan bellas modelos en el stand!

We had such good sales that Diana had to make some extra keychains to sell, and we even made t-shirts with the Gatos Malcriados logo.

Tuvimos tan buenas ventas que Diana se tuvo que poner a hacer mas llaveros para vender e incluso tuvimos que mandar a hacer camisetas con el logo de los Malcriados.

We are exhausted, our feet hurts and we are lacking sleep but it really makes it up for all the amazing people we met, the fun we had and the good sales we had. Hopefully this is the beginning of a yearly tradition.

Estamos exhaustas, nos duelen los pies y todavia estamos cortas de sueño, pero realmente lo compensa toda la gente maravillosa que conocimos, la diversión que tuvimos y las ventas a favor de los Malcriados. Espero de verdad que esto sea el principio de una tradición anual.

This is something I made for my best friend a couple of months ago, it wasn´t her birthday or any special date, I made it for her because I thought it will cheer her up and make her feel good and it did, she loved it, she is a huge Hello Kitty fan so this is perfect for her, I loved making her feel happy and being nice always has that reward.


Esto es algo que le hice a mi mejor amiga hace un par de meses, no era su cumpleaños, ni ninguna fecha en especial, se lo hice por que pense que la haría sentir bien, y así fué, le encantó, ella es una fan de Hello Kitty y esto fué perfecto para ella, quedé tan contenta al hacerla sentir feliz, ser amable siempre tiene esa recompensa.

Ink Applicator Tutorial

Tutorial para Aplicador de tinta

Several people have asked me if an alcohol ink applicator is a good buy, if you have the money and have the chance to get one easily I guess it is, but if not you can make your own, super easy and best of all with stuff you probably alredy have at home.

Varias personas me han preguntado si un aplicador de tinta es una buena compra, si tienes el dinero y la oportunidad de conseguir uno fácilmente me imagino que si, pero si no, puedes hacer el tuyo de un modo muy fácil y lo mejor con cosas que probablemente ya tienes en casa.

You are going to need:
Van a necesitar:

°Scissors/tijeras
°A wooden block /un bloquecito de madera

°Scratchy side of velcro/Parte que raspa de velcro
°Scrap of foamy/Pedazo de foamy
°Light color felt/Fieltro de color claro
°Glue gun/Pistola de silicón caliente

Step 1/Paso 1: Cover the wooden block with foamy and trim the edges - Cubre el bloquecito de madera con foamy y recorta las orillas.

Step 2/Paso 2: Attach the velcro and trim edges to fit block- Pega el velcro y recorta a la medida del block.
Step 3/Paso 3: Cut several pieces of felt in the size of the block-Corta varias piezas de fieltro en la medida de tu block.

Step 4/Paso 4: Attach to velcro and start using it with your favorite technique- Unelo al velcro y comienza a usarlo en tu técnica favorita.


You can use it to ink your paper and give it a distress look.
Lo puedes usar para aplicarle tinta a tu pápel y darle un look desordenado.

Or you can use it to apply alcohol ink to your favorite project- Ó para aplicar tinta de alcohol a tu proyecto favorito.

Empecemos con: ¿Qué es un podcast? Un podcast es una serie de archivos digitales ,usualmente de audio o video, que son publicados periódicamente y están disponibles para download en algún tipo de servidor (eso dice Wiki).

I subscribe to a lot of podcasts trough iTunes, but you can use other methods and find other podcasts googling them, and if you dont have a mp3 player to downloaded with you can most of the time enjoy it from the website.

Yo estoy suscrita a muchos podcasts a través de iTunes, pero pueden usar otros métodos para encontrarlos, simplemente consultando con Google, y si no tienen un mp3 player para escucharlos la mayoría se pueden disfrutar desde la página web.

1. Craftypod: This is the only one of my favorites that is not video. And you know what? Sister Diane makes it so enjoyable, informative and fun that you wont even miss the fact that you can´t see it, if you can go and listen to all of the podcasts they are full of information and I guarantee you will enjoy them.

La Hermana Diane lo hace tan entretenido, divertido e informativo que no van a extrañar el hecho de que no lo pueden ver; vayan y escuchen todos su podcasts, están llenos de información y les garantizo que los van a disfrutar.

2. Lets Knit Together: I´m a wannabe knitter, I haven´t been able to finish a single product worth wearing, but every time I watch Cat I swear, she makes knitting eeeaaasy, I love the quality, the atmosphere and the great tips she shares, if you are into knitting, go check it out fall in love with the videopodcast she visits all sorts of cool places and has tons of knowledge to share.

2. Lets Knit Together: Soy una wannabe de tejedora, no he podido terminar un producto digno de usarse, pero cada vez que veo a Cat les juro, ella hace que el tejido se vea fáaacil; me encanta la calidad, la atmósfera y los maravillosos tips que comparte. Si les gusta tejer vayan, enamórense de su videopodcast; ella visita muchos lugares padrísimos y tiene mucho conocimiento para compartir.

3. Fork You!: This videopodcast is not only yummy is also super funny, watching Scott and Marissa cook is so much fun I sometimes find myself giggling, if you don´t like cooking they are going to make you like it and if you do they have great tips and awesome recipes.

3. Fork You!: Este videopodcast no solo es delicioso, también es divertidísimo; ver a Scott y Marissa cocinar es tan gracioso, que muchas veces me doy cuenta que me estoy riendo sola. Si no te gusta la cocina ellos van a hacer que te guste y si te gusta tienen grandes tips y maravillosas recetas.

4. Fiskars Tv: I love Fiskars products, so a videopodcast showcasing them is of course going to be one of my favorites, in these podcasts you can see a ton of different things to do, from scrapbooking to home decor and they make it fun, fast and give a freebie at the end, I mean what is not to like, plus you can see your favorite Fiskateers (I saw you Angela!!).

4. Fiskars Tv: Amo los productos Fiskars, así que un videopodcast mostrándolos tiene que ser de mis favoritos. En estos podcast puedes ver muchas cosas diferentes desde scrapbooking hasta decoración del hogar; y lo hacen divertido, rápido y dan freebies al final, o sea, ¿Qué no les puede gustar? Además, puedes ver a tus Fiskateers favoritas (¡¡te ví Ángela!!).

5. Scraptime: I had to leave my favorite for last, I´ve been watching Scraptime since the first episode, is my first videopodcast to watch, the one I daily look for updates, and my go to for doubts, because simply I trust what Christine says, if she likes it then is good if she says it doesn´t work, I don´t even go near it, I like that first of all is relliable: I know I´ll have at least a couple episodes a week, I love how much she shares of herself, tecniques, her style everything, plus she has the most adorable daughter If you are a scrapbooker go and enjoy her blog, then come back and tell me how good it was!

5. Scraptime: Tenía que dejar mi favorito para el final; he estado viendo Scraptime desde el primer episodio. Este es mi principal videopodcast para ver, el cual a diario busco actualizaciones, y a donde voy, si tengo dudas, simplemente porque confío en lo que Christine dice; si le gusta es bueno; si dice que no funciona, ni siquiera me acerco a eso. Me encanta que es confiable: sé que al menos dos veces por semana van a haber episodios nuevos, me encanta cómo comparte acerca de su vida, técnicas nuevas y su estilo. Además, tiene a la niña más adorable del mundo. ¡Si haces scrapbooking, ve y disfruta su blog; luego regresa y dime qué tan bueno es!

A month of color...

Un mes de color

Many of you know Shimelle, and those who don´t you are going to love the stuff she makes, her classes, tutorials and projects are lots of fun and super cool. This month she has a very cool thing called "A month of color" she is going to have tons of fun stuff to do all about color!!

Muchos de ustedes conocen a Shimelle, y aquellos que no la conozcan les va a encantar las cosas que hace; sus tutoriales, clases y proyectos son padrísimos y divertidos. Este mes, ella tiene un proyecto muy cool que se llama "Un mes de color", donde habrán montones de cosas, todas relativas al color.

The first project was "Scrapbook your favorite color" and I made a little collage with some tags and used ribbon, scraps of paper and some other embellishments I had pretty much all in pink.

El primer proyecto fue "Scrapbook tu color favorito", y yo hice este collage con unas tags, utilizando listones, pedazos de papel y otros adornos que tenía; todo con mucho rosado

I can´t wait to check what is the next project and what do we get to use but I´m sure is going to be really fun, if you want to join just check out her blog.

Good news (finally!)

Buenas noticias (¡al fin!)

So I´ve had a very rough couple of weeks since the passing of Boris, and I´ve been under a lot of stress, this caused me some tummy issues that kept me down for a few days, I´m happy to say that I´m better and even thought I´m still not over Boris I´m pulling trough.

He estado teniendo un par de semanas difíciles desde el fallecimiento de Boris; he estado bajo mucho estrés y éste me causó problemas en mi pancita, los cuales me dejaron botada por unos dias. Me da alegría decir que ya me siento mejor, y aunque todavía no siento haber superado lo de Boris, ahí la llevo.

But good news at last!! I applied to be on the DT (Design Team) at My Grafico and I am now a guest DT all trought the month of june and I´m super happy. I applied there because I really love all the products they offer and I love how sweet and nice the people are starting with Sarabeth. So I´m very excited and I´m sure is going to be a blast.

Pero al fin, buenas noticias. Apliqué para estar en un ED (Equipo de Diseño) en My Grafico y ahora soy una ED Invitada hasta el mes de junio, ¡y estoy muy emocionada! Decidí aplicar ahí porque me encantan los productos que ofrecen y la gente es super linda, empezando con Sarabeth. Asi que estoy muy emocionada y estoy segura va a ser super divertido.

My first Easter project

Mi primer proyecto de Pascua

Really! In Mexico Easter is celebrated very different than in other parts of the world, so we have very little Easter bunny and eggs interaction while growing up (or well at least I did)

¡De verdad! En México Pascua se celebra muy distinto que en otras partes de el mundo, así que tenemos muy poca interaccion con el Conejo y Huevos de Pascua mientras crecia (bueno yo al menos).

But I had to make this baskets because when I saw these plastic eggs at Walmart I loved them, and knew this was the year to make easter goodies.

Pero tuve que hacer estas canastitas porque cuando vi los huevos tornasoles en Walmart me fascinaron y dije este es el año que voy a hacer cositas para Pascua.

The basket is inspired by this one from Dawn Griffith and I made it with DCWV "Spring Gliter Stack" and the egg inside has easter candy and some crafty goodies.

La canasta esta inspirada en esta de Dawn Griffith y la hice con DCWV "Spring Glitter Stack" y el huevo por dentro tiene dulces de pascua y unos detallitos de manualidades.

I´m making these for some of my crafty friends to share on Easter and even do is not so expensive is so cute and everybody likes a little candy and some crafty bits.

I think they are going to like them.....

My latest projects

Mis ultimos proyectos...

I love it when I sit down to make a project and ideas just flow and I get to finish the project, like last night at our friend Vanessa scrapbooking store I started making a project that my friend Liz saw on a blog (wish I could remember wich one!) and was able to finish it.

Me encanta cuando me siento a hacer un proyecto y las ideas brotan y puedo terminarlo, eso sucedió anoche en la tienda de scrapbooking de mi amiga Vanessa, donde comencé a hacer un proyecto que compartió conmigo mi amiga Liz, (ella lo vió en un blog, pero no recuerdo cuál).

I had never done anything for our dogs, so this was a very easy choice and the "Pet Stack" DCWV paper worked great for it, I only used coasters and put it together super fast.

Nunca le habia hecho nada a nuestros perros, asi que fue una decisión bastante fácil y junto con el papel "The pet stack" de DCWV use protectores de vasos y lo terminé rapidísimo.

Here you can see how pretty it is and I´m already looking for some pictures of my dogs to put on them and were to hang it.

Aqui pueden ver que bonito quedo, ya estoy buscando qué fotos de mis perros usar y dónde lo voy a colgar.

Album Alejandra

It´s funny how you think since I get to stay at home I´m going to blog a lot more and then realize that you are super busy and forget or do something else or you are simply not inspired and not because you are being lazy.

Es gracioso cómo una llega a pensar que como no tiene que salir a trabajar y sólo estar en la casa, va a tener más tiempo de escribir en su blog; luego se da cuenta que está o muy ocupada o se le olvida o simplemente no está inspirada... pero nunca por que estés flojeando.

This past two weeks I´ve been working on and off in this birthday present for Alejandra the daughter of dear friends, she turned 15 and as it is traditionally done she had a huge party and wore the purplest (is that a word?) dress I´ve ever seen, she looked great and danced awesome and hope she likes what I made for her.

Las últimas dos semanas estuve trabajando en un regalo de cumpleaños para Alejandra, la hija de unos queridos amigos, quien cumplió 15 años y como es tradición, tuvo una super fiesta y usó el vestido más morado que he visto en mi vida; se veia super bien y bailó fabuloso. Espero de verdad que le guste su regalo.

I made this album with DCWV Pocket full of poisies and the Glitter Stack, I also used tons of Primas a whole bunch of blings and a lot of Stickles and is not much of my style but I really love how it looks.

Hice el album con Pocket Full of Poisies de DCWV y el Glitter Stack; también utilicé un buen de flores Prima, mucho bling y Stickles, y aunque no es mucho mi estilo, realmente me gusta como se vé.

I have a lot of projects to do on the following weeks so I´ll be blogging about that, and I promise to write more since is taking me a while to post.

Tengo muchos proyectos pendientes para las próxima semanas y voy a estar blogueando acerca de eso, así que debo escribir más, ya que me está tomando un rato escribir.

Rainbow crafts!

Isn´t it funny that I love rainbows and had never ever made any sort of rainbow styled craft? Well, that is in the past because last week at the request of my cousin Adriana, who owns a Pride store here in town, I made a few rainbow themed things.

¿No les parece gracioso que me encanten los arcoiris pero nunca haya hecho ningún tipo de manualidad con esa temática? Bueno, eso fue en el pasado, porque la semana pasada, a pedido de mi prima Adriana, que tiene una tienda Pride aquí, en Mérida, hice algunas cosas con tema del arcoiris.

This is a set of cards I made with felt hearts cut with my Sizzix machine (that I love!) pp from DCWV and white cardstock, a little glitter and some ribbon I had in my stash.

Estas son una serie de tarjetas que hice con corazones de fieltro, cortados con mi Sizzix (que amo!), papel de DCWV y Bristol blanca, un poquito de glitter y listón que tenia entre mis materiales.
And here I made a journal, a little explosion box and a Maze Book. All with rainbow theme and most of them made only with cardstock and stuff I already had.

Aqui hice un diario, una cajita de explosión y un libro de laberinto. Todos con temática de arcoiris y la mayoria hechos solo con cardstock y cosas que ya tenía a la mano.

Right now I´m making inchies. These are some I made a little while ago for a swap and the theme is animals. Right now I´m making some with Love theme and Birthday.

Ahora estoy haciendo inchies, los cuales son cuadritos de exactamente 1"x 1" y los decoras con un tema; estos son de animales y los que estoy haciendo ahorita son de amor y cumpleaños.

And last a serious case of altering stuff addiction... I altered my shoes! I cut some fabric scraps with my Sizzix skull die and hearts and did that. I love how they look!

Y ya de último, un serio caso de adicción a alterar cosas.... alteré mis zapatos! Corté unos retazos de tela con mi dado de Calavera de Sizzix, y corazones, e hice eso. ¡Me encanta cómo se ven!

And the gifts were awesome, tons of scrapbooking supplies, Diana got a popcorn maker and a few goodies to go with it (she looooves popcorn), and I got......an Amy Butler scrapbooking bag!!!!! In Pink and with goodies inside!!!!!!

We had a blast at Julia´s last night, the food was incredible and we got gifts from her and she and her mom loved the gifts we gave them.

It was an awesome Christmas and not because of the gifts, we spent the time having fun, trying to not get so stressed about the season and really and focusing in the future and present, the best gift this Christmas for me was knowing I´m in love with someone that is in love with me.

Fun evening at Scrapbookit

Last week we went to Scrapbookit our favorite lss. Why is it our favorite? Well first of all the owner Vanessa is super nice, has lots of knowledge about the products and always makes us feel welcomed.

On friday she had an open house where on top of everything she gave us freebies, delicious bread and coffee, the bread was incredible and it had her logo on top of it and you could eat it so cool.

Vanessa makes these awesome vintage inspired purses that are absolutely adorable, and also you can see some albums and mini books made by friends.

So as you can see I love this lss, I think is exactly what we need and I wish Vanessa a ton of success, and I think she will since she has the attitude, knowledge and will to create and awesome scrapping environment.

And besides kids jingle belling and everyone telling you "be a good cheer" we have parties and get togethers and presents to wrap, cookies to bake, people to remember and way too many stuff to do and keep track of all activities, so when I saw this album in Ali Edwards blog I thought it was a great idea to write down and document all the important stuff we have during this busy holiday month.

I just finished with mine, now I only need to decide what goes in it, of course there are some days that will be very easy going but some will have activities and I plan to use my album to document all we did and then after is over read it over and remember how much fun we had.

I made my book with an acrylic album and I just added enough pages to cover 25 days until Christmas, I used all kinds of papers, some acetate sheets, journal blocks and even felt and a starbucks cup and sleeve, some of the pages have pockets, some have hidden space and some have stuff that makes me happy, I added flocking and rub ons and stamps and basically I did it to fit my needs.

I´ll try to explain if I did something with each of the pages I fill, even if I don´t plan to take a picture every day in december the ones I do take I want them to go in the album and I´ll make sure to show them to you.

Can´t wait to start filling it and showing it around, and let me know what you think.
