A florecer en 2010.

Florecer:
Un periodo o etapa de transformación o desarrollo; algo hermoso que da ricas promesas

So sorry for being gone so long, but I´ve been really uninspired, then busy, then sick, then all over again. But I decided that with choosing my word for 2010, I would get my inspiration up and start blogging again.

Mil disculpas por haberme ido tanto tiempo, pero realmente no he estado inspirada, luego me ocupe, luego me enfermé y de nuevo todo lo anterior. Pero decidí que al escoger mi palabra para el 2010, me iba a inspirar y escribir de nuevo en mi blog.

Since 2002 Ali Edwards has helped us get inspired by having a word that guides us trough the year, my word last year was Focus and I chose for 2010: Blossom

I want to Blossom in many ways, in my bussiness, as a person, in my craft and want see changes in my attitude, in some things that I really want to modify about my personality and then at the end Blossom into a healthier person with a total new attitude.

Desde el 2002 Ali Edwards nos ha ayudado a inspirarno invitandonos a escoger una palabra quenos guie durante todo un año, mi palabra del año pasado fue Focus (Enfocarse) y escogí para el 2010: Blossom (Florecer). Quiero Florecer de muchos modos, en mi negocio, como persona, en mis manualidades y me encantaría ver cambios en mi actitud en ciertas cosas que quiero modificar de mi personalidad y luego al final Florecer en una persona mas saludable con una actitud renovada.

2009 was a bitter sweet year, but I still made it work, I really hope 2010 is a much healthier, busier and filled with inspiration and crafting.


El 2009 fue un año agridulce, pero aún asi logre superarlo, espero en verdad que el 2010 estar mucho mas saludable y llena de inspiración y muchas manualidades.


If you are still reading me, thank you so much for your pacience and friendship, I plan to write a lot more on 2010 and have tons of things ready to post. Have an awesome 2010 and hope all your plans come true.


Si aún me estan leyendo, mil gracias por su paciencia y amistad, tengo planes de escribir mucho mas durante el 2010 y tengo muchas cosas listas para escribir. Que tengan un bello 2010 y espero que todos sus planes se vuelvan realidad.

Order & focus.

Orden y enfoque.

Back in the begining of 2009, several crafters (me included) picked our word for the year, mine was: Focus. Simply because I thought my life needed a bit more of it, in every sense and I think that I´m trying to be focused and what is even harder to stay that way.

Al principio del 2009, varias personas que hacemos manualidades (yo incluida), escogimos nuestra palabra de el año; la mia fué: Focus (Enfocar), simplemente porque pensaba que mi vida necesitaba un poco más de esto, en todos los sentidos, y siento que estoy intentanto enfocarme y, sobre todo, mantener el enfoque.

This week I saw at another blog (wish I could remember which one) some lists to plan your blog topics ahead of time and I simply loved the idea, so many times I know I want to talk about something and then I forget; or I sit here and talk about nothing in particular, well I downloaded the really adorable lists by Erin Vale; check her out she is an amazing designer and has all kinds of freebies in her blog.
Esta semana ví en otro blog (ojalá pudiera recordar cuál) unas listas para planear tus tópicos de el blog con anticipación y me encantó la idea. Tantas veces sé que quiero hablar de algo y se me olvida; o me siento y hablo de nada en particular. Así que bajé las listas super lindas de Erin Vale; chequen su blog, es una diseñadora maravillosa y tiene todo tipo de cosas lindas y gratis en su blog.

And today I made this cute little folder for our lists (me and Diana´s) so we can plan ahead our blog topics, and do more to our blogs hers of course is with cats and mine is with birds but I didn´t take a picture oops.

Y hoy hice este lindo folder para nuestras listas (la mia y la de Diana) para que podamos planear nuestros blogs con anticipación y hagamos más por ellos; el de ella, por supuesto es con gatos, el mio es con aves pero olvide por completo tomarle fotos; oops.

I used some cat and dog paper kit not sure of the brand, my adored fiskars border punch and some alphabet stickers and ribbon, easy peasy, fun and functional.

Use unos papeles de un kit de perros y gatos, no estoy segura de la marca, mi adorado punche de borders Fiskars, unas letras y listón, facilito, divertido y funcional.

What I've been up to...

Qué he estado haciendo...

First of all changing my eating habits a lot! Diana and I are trying (real hard) to be vegetarians, first because of health issues and also because we both love animals and feel is the next step to respect and protect them.

¡Primero que nada cambiando mis hábitos alimenticios! Diana y yo estamos tratando (con muchas ganas) de ser vegetarianas, primero por motivos de salud y también por que ambas amamos a los animales y sentimos que es el siguiente paso para respetarlos y protegerlos.

So I´ve been busy but around the kitchen, creating menus, going to the supermarket, finding ways to replace meat and since Diana is not allowed to eat too much protein or sodium is being a real challenge to eat this last week, hard but not impossible.

Así que he estado ocupada pero en la cocina, creando menúes, yendo al supermercado, buscando maneras de remplazar la carne, y ya que Diana no debe comer mucha proteína o sodio ha sido un verdadero reto el alimentarnos esta semana, difícil pero no imposible.

Wish us luck and if you are a vegetarian and are reading this, please share tips, ideas, recipes and please tell me the hole I feel in my stomach after eating is going away some day, please tell me so!!

In other crafty news I´ve been busy creating this, is a resin necklace charm and also my latest trimph because is not very easy to do and also because is super pretty and is the kind of thing I never thought I would do.

En cuestión de manualidades he estado ocupada creando algo de joyería, es un dije de resina y mi triunfo más reciente, porque no son muy sencillos de hacer pero se ven super lindos y son el tipo de cosa que jamás me imagine lograr.

I plan to create a whole line of these and use them for scrapbooking, personal use and also give them as presents from time to time, the cool thing is that you can personalize them.

Planeo hacer una linea de éstos y usarlos en scrapbooking, para mi uso personal y dar algunos de regalo de tiempo en tiempo; lo padre es que se pueden personalizar.

Right now I´m working on a gift album for a quinceañera (girl turning 15 and getting a huge party very popular in Mexico), in shades of purple with the line of DCWV Pocket full of Posies, I want to have it ready over the weekend so next week I can focus on something else. We want to try and do polymer clay so thats another project.

En este momento estoy trabajando en un álbum para dar de regalo a una quinceañera, en tonos morados con la linea de DCWV Pocket Full of Posies; me gustaría tenerlo listo para el fin de semana para poderme enfocar en otras cosas. Queremos intentar hacer fimo, así que he ahí otro proyecto.

Thing-a-day

Thing-a-day is a challenge during the month of february to battle the winter blues, you are suppoused to make one thing a day every day for 28 days.

Thing-a-day o en español, "Una cosa al día" es un reto durante el mes de febrero para batallar en contra de la depresión de invierno; se supone que debes hacer una cosa al día, cada día, por 28 dias.

Last year I signed up but life got in the way and didn´t do a single thing for february or at least it seemed that way. I was not going to let that happen this year, so actually day one was finishing my blog, day two a couple of topiarys and finally day three, today: Glass etching.

El año pasado me inscribí pero la vida se cruzó en mi camino y al parecer no hice nada en febrero, pero no iba a permitir que me pasara eso otra vez. Así que el día uno fue terminar el nuevo look de mi blog, el día dos unos topiarios, y finalmente, día tres, hoy: Grabado en cristal.

Now I´ve never done glass etching before so this was a real challenge. Diana got me a Dremmel kit and it included a Dremmel engraver to use on wood, glass etc. and today I decided my thing a day was glass etching.

Ahora, yo nunca he hecho grabado en cristal, así que esto era un verdadero reto. Diana me compro un kit de herramienta Dremmel, la cual incluía un grabador para usar en madera, vidrio etc. Y hoy decidí que mi "Una cosa al dia" sería grabado en cristal.

The truth is that it was fairly easy, the tool vibrates a lot wich feels funny in your hand but the result is great, if you ever wanted to try this is super fun you should totally do it.

La verdad es que fue bastante sencillo, la herramienta vibra mucho, lo cual se siente raro en la mano, pero el resultado es excelente. Si alguna vez quisieron probar lo recomiendo, es muy divertido.
