Sizzix shopping

Most crafters (scrapbookers, knitters, beaders etc) love shopping and I´m sure thats because of all the things we mentally plan as we see new materials, tools, textures and colors. One of my favorite places to shop is at Taller Mg y Ep, partly because they carry a very complete line of Sizzix products but mostly because the owners are incredibly crafty, talented and super sweet.

La mayoría de las personas que hacemos manualidades (scrapbookers, tejedoras, bisutería, etc.) amamos ir de compras y estoy segura que eso se debe a todas las cosas que planeamos mentalmente cuando vemos materiales nuevos, herramientas, texturas y colores. Uno de mis lugares favoritos para comprar es en el Taller Mg y Ep, en parte porque traen una línea muy completa de productos Sizzix, pero sobre todo por que las dueñas son muy afectas a las manualidades, talentosas y muy lindas.

Today I had the chance to go and check out the new products specially for Valentine´s day and as always they have beautiful stuff and I took some pictures to show you how cool their little "atelier" is.

Hoy tuve la oportunidad de ir y ver los nuevos productos especialmente para día de San Valentín y como siempre tienen cosas muy bellas así que tome algunas fotos pare mostrarles lo padre que es su pequeño "atelier".

We left with a few dies and a couple of other cute things and can´t wait until we can meet with them again and do something crafty.

Fun evening at Scrapbookit

Last week we went to Scrapbookit our favorite lss. Why is it our favorite? Well first of all the owner Vanessa is super nice, has lots of knowledge about the products and always makes us feel welcomed.

On friday she had an open house where on top of everything she gave us freebies, delicious bread and coffee, the bread was incredible and it had her logo on top of it and you could eat it so cool.

Vanessa makes these awesome vintage inspired purses that are absolutely adorable, and also you can see some albums and mini books made by friends.

So as you can see I love this lss, I think is exactly what we need and I wish Vanessa a ton of success, and I think she will since she has the attitude, knowledge and will to create and awesome scrapping environment.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Yey a holiday for scrapbookers! Can´t get better than that right? So what is everybody doing? Scrapbooking until your fingers are achy and run out of glue dots?

We are hosting a little crop, the usual friends are coming over to the office and we´ll eat a lot, talk and hopefully do something scrapbook related lol.

As I mentioned before we had a class at the brand new LSS in the city, and off we were yesterday afternoon and here are my impresions (I´m trying to be very objective):

• First of all it was with a teacher I had already taken classes before when I first started scrapbooking, she works amazing and is very talented but is a bit stuck on really clean lines, perfect measuring, color coordination and following the rules something that is clearly not my style anymore and in 3 years she hasn´t been able to evolve or to change a bit so it was a bit dissapointing.
• Second they mentioned it was going to be a class with an acrylic album, wrong it was a MM plastic album with paper pages in a size I hardly ever work, if to them that is acrylic I´m scared to see what they call blackboard.
• The kit was a bit expensive $30 bucks for a two sheets of cardstock, two patterned papers and a few embellies and very little ribbon, felt very expensive but still no problem.
• I got to half of my book and got so bored I simply stopped, it had no challenge, nothing new to bring to my scrapbooking life.
• I brought my own trimmer and toolbox so I didn´t need to borrow anything and two girls in front of me that I had never seen in my life started using my trimmer and tacky glue without even asking if they could, to me that feels rude, I would love to lend them stuff and have no problem with my friends but tacky glue is expensive and I rather use it myself thats why I buy it, I have no problem with my friends using my stuff really, but couple of chick I´m never going to see again in life, nope not happening.
• The owners provided of a really nice place, soda, coffee, cookies and were super pleasant all the time always caring about we could need.
  

So it was very dissapointing because I thought it could be something new but well you live and learn and if you need some basic lessons on scrapbooking is perfect but I want to believe I´m a bit over that, I´m happy making mistakes, not measuring, and certainly staining everything as much as I can.

We have an LSS!!!!

Well not us personaly but here in the city an LSS just opened, and of course scrapbook addicts that we are we had to check it out, so off we went Doris, her daughter Doris, Diana and me.

Before getting there I asked Diana what her expectations were about this store and she wanted to find paper and some tools and cool stuff, I wanted to find Ranger products, Prima and chipboard.

So we got there and is a tiny store super cute, very new, nicely decorated, the name of the store is "Scrap Store" and they have tons of stuff we normally don´t see around here like Making Memories stuff, chipboard, some kits, and overall I think is a great start, hope they get more stuff in the future cause they´ll have three faithfull costumers, their prices are very reasonable and I love all the stuff we got.
