I'm back!

¡Estoy de vuelta!

From my self imposed break simply because I wasn´t crafting much, now I´m working on a couple of things so I feel better about coming and sharing.

De mi auto-impuesto descanso y sólo porque no había estado haciendo gran cosa,a hora ya estoy haciendo manualidades nuevamente, así que me siento mejor para compartir algo.

One of the things I´ve been working on for the last month was the rehabilitation of our scraproom/woorkroom and I wanted to have it ready for Diana´s birthday on july 30th and I am sure is going to be ready even if I dont sleep the previous days to that!

Una de las cosas en las que he estado trabajando el pasado mes ha sido la rehabilitación del scraproom/taller y quería tenerlo listo para el cumpleaños de Diana, el 30 de julio, y estoy segura que va a estar listo, así yo no duerma los días previos a eso!

So part of the decoration is ready only need to place it and one of them is this altered canvas that I made with a Sizzix big die (borrowed from Laura, thanks Laura!) I cut the cupcake and set it on the recycled canvas, I just unglued the old stuff, covered in black gesso and then attached the cupcake and added the button, bling and stickles just to give it a more polished look. I have another canvas and plan to make a different kind of cupcake so I´ll show you that.

Parte de lo que está listo es la decoración; sólo necesito ver dónde acomodarla. Una de tantas cosas es este canvas alterado que hice con un dado big de Sizzix (que amablemente me presto Laura, ¡Gracias de nuevo, Laura!) Lo corté y lo puse en mi canvas reciclado, al cual solo le quité lo que tenia anteriormente y cubrí con Gesso negro, luego le añadí el botón, los brillitos y stickles para que se viera mas pulido. Tengo otro canvas y planeo hacer otro tipo de cupcake en él, así que tendré eso para mostrarles.

Yep thats a tiny kitty, a tiny bottle fed every two and a half hours adorable kitty. We rescued him and his sister about two weeks ago but sadly his sister passed away and I´m raising this little one, he is doing great his name is Elliott in honor of Elliott Stabler from Law & Order SVU. He keeps me busy and either I craft or I blog all the rest of my time is with him, but he is growing really fast and before I know it hell be on his own bugging the rest of the cats and not needing me as much.

Si es un gatito, un gatito que hay que alimentar con biberón cada dos horas y media. Lo rescatamos junto con su hermana, pero tristemente ella falleció. Él está muy bien; se llama Elliot, en honor del Det. Ellitot Stabler de Law & Order UVS. Me mantiene super ocupada, así que hago manualidades o escribo blog; el resto de mi tiempo es con él, pero está creciendo rapidísimo y muy pronto va a estar molestando a los otros gatos y no me va a necesitar tanto.

So please bear with me and wish Elliott good wishes so he stays strong and healthy, I´ll post as soon as I find 10 min to get inspired.

Its not a whine is a wish, these are a few things that have caught my eye lately and would love to try and use, they look fun, versatile, and different. I would love to see how they look irl (in real life)

No es un berrinche, es un deseo. Estas son algunas cosas que han captado mi atención ultimamente y me encantaría probar, porque se vé que son divertidas, versátiles y diferentes.

1.- Rainbow Cookie Cutter Die Shape by Quickutz: Lets forget for a second its a rainbow (OMG!!) I think is seriously cute and would use it a ton of times, starting with the decoration of my supplies containers.

1.- Cortador de Quickutz Arcoiris: Vamos a olvidar por un segundo que es un arcoiris (ODM!!) Me parece simplemente adorable, lo usaria un montón de veces, empezando con la decoracion de mis contenedores de material.

2.- Memory Blackboard Album by Cosmo Cricket: I think is cute and would love to see one finished because I love the black base to start with and the blackboard is a cool material.

3.- Girls Just Chillin Stamps by Making Memories: I think you could use each stamp a thousand times in different projects and still manage to make everything look different.

4.-Storage Desktop Carousel by Making Memories: I realize this is not exactly a newbie but I used to thing that I didn´t need one because most of my stuff is in my tool box, but lately I´ve been working so much at home that I would love to leave some stuff in the tool box and the stuff I use the most in the carousel.

4.- Carrusel de Almacenamiento para Escritorio de Making Memories: Yo se que esto no es muy nuevo que digamos, pero solía pensar que no lo necesitaba, sobre todo porque la mayor parte de mis cosas están en mi caja de herramietnas. Pero últimamente he estado trabajando tanto en la casa, que me encantaría dejar las cosas de mi caja ahí y tener unas para mi escritorio, sobre todo lo que uso más.

5.- Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers by Ranger: I´ve always been curious as to how this works, and since I love paint so much I would love to give it a try and want one of each color, you know just to check if they all work well.

This is my sweetie Diana we went to do some christmas shopping and had lunch and decided she needed a picture with the christmas trees, I think she looks awesome!

Girly skulls rock!

¡¡¡¡Las calaveras nenonas son divinas!!!!

I love girly skulls, I don´t know why but the fact is that I do, eventually I would love to have one tattoed but I still haven´t found "the one" I try to get stuff with girlys skulls whenever I can and I even altered my shoes with skulls.

Me encantan las calaveras ñoñas, no sé porqué, pero el hecho es que me encantan. Eventualmente me encantaría tatuarme una, pero aún no encuentro "el tatuaje". Trato de conseguir calaveritas donde sea, e incluso alteré mis zapatos con calaveras.

Yesterday Diana and I went downtown for some light shopping and we saw some stuff that we can´t get anywhere else in town and bumped into these:

Now I thought they were cute but Diana... well not so much.

Yo pensé que eren divinas, Diana... no tanto.

And I thought: Well duh of course not everybody likes skulls, some think they are creepy, trashy and well who am I to tell them otherwise.

Y luego pensé: Bueno, claro que no a todos les gustan las calaveras, algunas personas piensan que dan miedo, o que son de mala facha y quién soy yo para decirles lo contrario.

That is unless they see these blingie skulls all covered in cuteness, now tell me who can resist such a cute earring, forget the skull; is shimmery pink and it has bling.....a lot of bling.

Eso es a menos que se topen con estas calaveritas con piedritas cubiertas en cute, díganme quién puede resistir aretes tan bonitos; olvida la calavera por un momento, es rosada con brillitos y tiene piedritas brillosas.... muchas piedritas!

I like skulls because they are so cute, and if you like them too come and sit by me!

Oh how time flies!

¡Oh como vuela el tiempo!

Today I decided to deep clean my kitchen and among the things I found were 3 baby kitten bottles that I used with Sach when our little neighbor gave him to us, Sachy was about 2 days old, he even had his umbilical cord attached.

Hoy decidí hacer limpieza profunda en la cocina y entre las cosas que encontré habian 3 biberones de gatito que use con Sach cuando nuestro vecinito nos lo entregó. Sachy tenía aproximadamente 2 días de nacido y aún tenía su cordón umbilical pegado.

Wasn´t he adorable? This is the first picture I took of him and yes I knitted that blankie and he loved it.

¿No era adorable? Esta es la primera foto que le tomé, y yo le teji esa cobijita que a él le encantaba.

Look at him with his eyes closed and his little paws all pink and cute! This was right after bottle time.

¡Vean qué lindo con sus patitas rosaditas y preciosas! Esta foto fue tomada enseguida después de comer.

Here he was about one month old, eyes wide open and wanting to play with everything.

Aquí ya tenía como un mes, sus ojotes abiertos y queriendo jugar con todo.

It was so hard to believe that he was ever going to grow up, but all the night feeding and tushy wiping, and tummy rubbing paid off and my baby Sach is a handsome feline now.

Era tan difícil creer que alguna vez iba a crecer, pero todas las alimentadas en la noche y limpiezas de traserito y sobadas de pancita pagaron y ahora mi bebé Sach es un guapo felino.

I really love all my cats, bue Sach well he has a special place in my heart, cause he was my real baby, the one that for a while depended on me for everything, and I´m so happy I didn´t let him down.

Realmente adoro a todos mis gatos, pero Sach... bueno, él tiene un lugar especial en mi corazón, porque él fue mi bebé de verdad y por un tiempo dependió de mi para todo, y estoy tan contenta que no lo dejé mal.

(Awww mommy I don´t need a bottle now, I want Whiskas!) (Aww mamiii, ya no tomo en biberon, quiero mis Whiskas!)

It´s funny how you think since I get to stay at home I´m going to blog a lot more and then realize that you are super busy and forget or do something else or you are simply not inspired and not because you are being lazy.

Es gracioso cómo una llega a pensar que como no tiene que salir a trabajar y sólo estar en la casa, va a tener más tiempo de escribir en su blog; luego se da cuenta que está o muy ocupada o se le olvida o simplemente no está inspirada... pero nunca por que estés flojeando.

This past two weeks I´ve been working on and off in this birthday present for Alejandra the daughter of dear friends, she turned 15 and as it is traditionally done she had a huge party and wore the purplest (is that a word?) dress I´ve ever seen, she looked great and danced awesome and hope she likes what I made for her.

Las últimas dos semanas estuve trabajando en un regalo de cumpleaños para Alejandra, la hija de unos queridos amigos, quien cumplió 15 años y como es tradición, tuvo una super fiesta y usó el vestido más morado que he visto en mi vida; se veia super bien y bailó fabuloso. Espero de verdad que le guste su regalo.

I made this album with DCWV Pocket full of poisies and the Glitter Stack, I also used tons of Primas a whole bunch of blings and a lot of Stickles and is not much of my style but I really love how it looks.

Hice el album con Pocket Full of Poisies de DCWV y el Glitter Stack; también utilicé un buen de flores Prima, mucho bling y Stickles, y aunque no es mucho mi estilo, realmente me gusta como se vé.

I have a lot of projects to do on the following weeks so I´ll be blogging about that, and I promise to write more since is taking me a while to post.

Tengo muchos proyectos pendientes para las próxima semanas y voy a estar blogueando acerca de eso, así que debo escribir más, ya que me está tomando un rato escribir.

What I've been up to...

Qué he estado haciendo...

First of all changing my eating habits a lot! Diana and I are trying (real hard) to be vegetarians, first because of health issues and also because we both love animals and feel is the next step to respect and protect them.

¡Primero que nada cambiando mis hábitos alimenticios! Diana y yo estamos tratando (con muchas ganas) de ser vegetarianas, primero por motivos de salud y también por que ambas amamos a los animales y sentimos que es el siguiente paso para respetarlos y protegerlos.

So I´ve been busy but around the kitchen, creating menus, going to the supermarket, finding ways to replace meat and since Diana is not allowed to eat too much protein or sodium is being a real challenge to eat this last week, hard but not impossible.

Así que he estado ocupada pero en la cocina, creando menúes, yendo al supermercado, buscando maneras de remplazar la carne, y ya que Diana no debe comer mucha proteína o sodio ha sido un verdadero reto el alimentarnos esta semana, difícil pero no imposible.

Wish us luck and if you are a vegetarian and are reading this, please share tips, ideas, recipes and please tell me the hole I feel in my stomach after eating is going away some day, please tell me so!!

In other crafty news I´ve been busy creating this, is a resin necklace charm and also my latest trimph because is not very easy to do and also because is super pretty and is the kind of thing I never thought I would do.

En cuestión de manualidades he estado ocupada creando algo de joyería, es un dije de resina y mi triunfo más reciente, porque no son muy sencillos de hacer pero se ven super lindos y son el tipo de cosa que jamás me imagine lograr.

I plan to create a whole line of these and use them for scrapbooking, personal use and also give them as presents from time to time, the cool thing is that you can personalize them.

Planeo hacer una linea de éstos y usarlos en scrapbooking, para mi uso personal y dar algunos de regalo de tiempo en tiempo; lo padre es que se pueden personalizar.

Right now I´m working on a gift album for a quinceañera (girl turning 15 and getting a huge party very popular in Mexico), in shades of purple with the line of DCWV Pocket full of Posies, I want to have it ready over the weekend so next week I can focus on something else. We want to try and do polymer clay so thats another project.

En este momento estoy trabajando en un álbum para dar de regalo a una quinceañera, en tonos morados con la linea de DCWV Pocket Full of Posies; me gustaría tenerlo listo para el fin de semana para poderme enfocar en otras cosas. Queremos intentar hacer fimo, así que he ahí otro proyecto.

My Hello Kitty Big Shot

As many crafters know the Hello Kitty Big Shot is the latest product released by Sizzix , it does the exact same things that a regular Big Shot but with the characteristic of being pink and having very famous Hello Kitty.

Well I decided that I was going to alter my Bigshot to match the Hello Kitty version so look below.

Feliz Dia de Reyes

Today here in Mexico and different parts of America we celebrate Dia de Reyes (Three Wise Men day) so if you leave your shoe out of the house they will bring you goodies, I didn´t get anything because probably some cat stole my shoe but thats ok because I´m getting the best part (in my opinion).

Part of the celebration is eating Rosca de Reyes wich is a bread with dried fruits sugar and is super yummy. The fun part is that inside it has little figures in the shape of a kid called "el muñequito" the little doll. And the person who gets them (depending on the size of the rosca you get around 3) they have to buy tamales for February 2nd which is the Virgin of the Candelaria day and you celebrate by eating. That is one of the things I love about Mexico every celebration you get to eat.

We are going to two celebrations of Rosca tonight one with our friend Vanessa at her scrapbook store and one with our friend Julia at her mom´s house. So we have a fun and yummy evening ahead of us and I leave you with a recipe to make your own Rosca de Reyes.

Yes a bit late, but still hoping you had a great New Years Eve and are enjoying this final days before going back to the swing of things next week.

My week was great Diana was on home most of the time since she had time off from work and she has been incredibly crafty folding and trimming and glueing itty bitty strips of paper for several projects and I was a bit less crafty but a lot more organizational.

So far one of my "craft" drawers has been cleaned and organized, we are really hoping it stays that way, since we got tons of supplies this year we really need to find a place to store and don´t forget that we have them and use them.

Also trying to chill for a bit because tomorrow is the start of the ADSR4 and can´t wait to get started, I love the challenges they post and it is so much fun.

I also picked a word for 2009, this is my first year so I picked something that I really need to do so my word is Focus:

• Focus on the stuff that really matters.
• Focus on the things I need to finish and don´t leave them hanging.
• Focus on day to day life.
• Focus on things that make me happy.
• Focus on things that make my other half happy.
• Focus on being better.

Is not going to be easy since I loose track of stuff on a day to day basis but I will give it my best. Tomorrow I plan to have a crafty day with the challenges from the calendar girls, the ADSR4 and some other challenges that I can´t wait to try.

A fast tour to....

the supermarket.... wait make that the mexican supermarket!

I´ve been a little lost because the holidays bring extra stuff to do and well cyber life has to suffer because of it, but on my latest trip to the supermarket I thought "I bet everybody wants to know what our supermarket looks like" ok make that everybody that doesn´t live in Mexico. So I said is the holidays they need to check one out; and with this I give you, my favorite supermarket in the world: La Comer

So La Comer isn´t the real name is just the short version of Comercial Mexicana, and the reason is my favorite supermarket is that the fruit, vegetables, breads and everything else they sell is super fresh, yummy and looks awesome and also you can buy on the internet and 2 hours later you get your shopping right in your doorstep (doesn´t get better than that!)

The bakery section assorted yummy cakes and pies that I should try soon.

The pet food aisle, we have Dog Chow and Whiskas and Pedigree, how exciting right!?

Wouldn´t that pink suitcase be great to take to crops and stuff? I so love it!

Here in Mexico we have the tradition that in New Years eve you have to wear red panties to find love or yellow to have money, so here is a very nice selection of red undies to pick.

My very personal opinion is that is luckier for me to not wear any at all... just kidding!
